In the program, Orientalist Ruslan Suleimanov discusses his personal experience of visiting northern Iran during the war. Despite shelling and destruction, everyday life continues to some extent, while the population lives amid fear and uncertainty. It is noted that even groups critical of the authorities tend to rally in the face of an external threat, viewing the war as a threat to the very existence of the country rather than solely to the regime.
The experts also emphasize that the Iranian regime remains resilient and is likely to adopt a tougher stance in both domestic and foreign policy. At the same time, the lack of a clear strategy among external actors makes the prospects for a swift end to the conflict more difficult.
